Nitschke only restricted

A win for life - Dr Nitschke can practise under 25 conditions. “The Right to Life Australia is pleased that the Medical Board of Australia is not encouraging suicide by imposing 25 conditions on Dr Nitschke’s medical practice” said Dr Katrina Haller, Chief Executive Officer of The Right to Life Australia.

“The mediated settlement means Dr Nitschke cannot provide advice or information on how to commit suicide,” she continued, “he cannot manufacture, check or sell a suicide drug, and must remove his endorsement of a suicide book and videos.”

The Board deemed it necessary to protect the public and manage risks to patients.

Dr Haller continued, “We believe that EXIT International and the suicide Industry needs to be closed down, as we support the right to life of everyone, including those who are depressed and need proper treatment.”

“Dr Nitschke had been dubbed “Dr Death,” and had helped several people commit suicide, including a healthy 26 year old man from the Mornington Peninsula,” Dr Haller said. “We celebrate the beauty and challenges of life, and promote life and hope over despair and death,” she concluded.
