Victoria's electoral laws have significant implications for our donors and for Right to Life Australia as a recipient of political donations (from 1 October 2026 – 28 November 2026 (Vic Election Day). See:

In summary:

• Donations of $100 or less do not count towards the disclosure threshold or general donation cap (although multiple small donations made to avoid these rules are prohibited).
• Recipients and donors are required to disclose donations of $1,290 or more to the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) online within 21 days. This includes multiple donations by the same donor that together total $1,290 or more within a financial year. The VEC publishes disclosures online within 7 days.
• (This means: Your name and donation will appear on a public website).
• Donations from a single donor to a single recipient are capped at $5,190 during an electoral cycle;
• Donors may not give to more than six third-party campaigners within an electoral cycle;
• Only Australian citizens, residents or businesses (with an ABN) can donate, foreign donations are banned. Anonymous donations of $1,290 or more are banned.
