Today Friday 26th June is United Nations Day for Victims of Torture. We must keep on speaking up against torture, for all people including unborn children.

Scottish euthanasia bill voted down

Good news from Scotland!

The Scottish Parliament has voted down by an overwhelming majority an assisted suicide bill.

The vote was 82 – 36.

“End-of-life choices” submissions 5 days to go

The Legal and Social Issues Committee of the Legislative Council is inviting Victorians to make a submission to the Inquiry into "End of Life Choices".  Make your views known. Details are as follows.

Hard cases make bad law

Dr. Rodney Syme is publicising yet another sad and sorry case in his attempt to have assisted suicide and euthanasia legalised. Ray Godbold’s “existential despair” cannot justify changing our prohibition against killing another person. Are requests for assisted suicide truly autonomous, truly free, informed and considered or can they be the result of depression, or a sense of being worthless, or a burden to others, or pressure from relatives, or inability to afford medical treatment?
