Australian Pharmacist Speaks Out
First, Do No Harm – The Forgotten Ethic
As healthcare professionals, including myself being a pharmacist, our practice is underpinned by a code of ethics. The Hippocratic Oath: "First, Do No Harm" is the basic underpinning of modern medicine. In the current climate of healthcare, it seems our professional bodies are forgetting our commitment to this code, especially with respect to our vow to non-maleficence. We are seeing this deviation from an ethical practice of medicine more and more in the sphere of reproductive "healthcare", and I would like to focus eventually with specificity on medical abortions.
Do not Resuscitate: Not Our Choice to Make
Luke Murphy - Thoughts arising from the Scottish COVID Enquiry re: Healthcare
‘’Care’’: From Latin Caritas - via multiple paths and a word meaning Grief in a Germanic language, often translated as Love, and with regard to people, to will the good of others in practical ways, to value them.
Were we to walk a pier and at the end find a distressed Casandra locked in a glass box signaling for help, as someone is drowning in the water below, we may interject: “The sign here clearly states, swim at your own risk, so is it worth that artificial act of saving a human life?” A weak swimmer, says not at the risk of my life. That women locked in the box can’t help, and she signals to a floatation device placed there for just such an emergency. Perhaps the drowning is deliberate, and questions should therefore be asked by outsiders first. Is it a child drowning? Should we care about age or health? What if the glass entrapped were signaling not to intervene? What if the saved person were to die a week later? Would the lifesaving act have been a waste of effort?
Big Bucks to help Queensland “women and pregnant people” get even more abortions!
NEWS FROM QUEENSLAND
It might have been thought that, when in 2018 the Palaszczuk Labor Government in Queensland legalised abortion up to birth, the pro-abortionists would have achieved everything they wanted. But no, they don’t ever seem to be satisfied.
In March this year legislation – apparently the first of its kind in Australia - was passed which allows nurses and mid-wives to dispense the abortion pill.
Now, in the recently released Queensland Budget, $41.8 million has been committed to support the implementation of a new Termination of Pregnancy Action Plan 2032 over the next five years. Or, as Health Minister Sharon Fentiman put it, “improving access to termination care”. Yes, “termination care”! Talk about an oxymoron.
STOP KATE CHANEY MP’s TELEHEALTH BILL
A private member's bill was introduced into Federal parliament on 12 February 2024 by Ms Katherine Chaney MP and seconded by: Dr Monique Ryan MP (both Independents). The bill is called the [Criminal Code Amendment (Telecommunications Offences for Suicide Related Material - Exception for Lawful Voluntary Assisted Dying) Bill 2024]. The bill aims to circumvent the present ban on using telehealth by amending the Federal Criminal Code Act 1995.

DANGER AHEAD - STOP KATE CHANEY MP's BILL
Kate Chaney MP (IND) introduces private member's bill to allow telehealth for assistance to suicide and euthanasia.
If passed, the bill will not only allow telehealth for existing euthanasia laws but allow states to use telehealth for any future expansion such as including for mental illness or for children.
"My sonographer shared the sad, shocking responses she sees at gender scans"
News.com.au (21 November 2023) posted an online article about an interview with an Australian sonographer. The sonographer performs scans on pregnant women and is often asked by parents to reveal the gender of the unborn baby. The sonographer says she hates sharing the baby's gender because that abortions occur when the baby's sex is revealed. The sonographer says she knows an abortion has been performed after a ''gender reveal''. News.com.au reported the sonographer interviewed said -"I know this, because they come back to me for the ultrasound evaluation to confirm they are no longer pregnant."
Fighting back against legalised euthanasia and assisted suicide
RICHARD EGAN BA, Grad Dip Lib Sc.
PRESENTATION: RIGHT TO LIFE AUSTRALIA INC CONFERENCE 2023
I want to talk to you about fighting back against legalised euthanasia and assisted suicide and I was very encouraged by Dr Joanna's Howes talk. I like her fighting spirit. Euthanasia and assisted suicide will - when the New Wales Act, sadly comes into operation on 28th November [2023] - then be legal in 26 jurisdictions around the world, including all six Australian states and obviously with imminent law in the A.C.T.
In Colombia, Italy, Germany, Austria and Canada euthanasia became legal following decisions of the highest court in each of those countries based on an alleged constitutional charter right. Weirdly, in Canada they found a right to kill people as part of the right to life. Very bizarre.
Right to Life Australia's 2023 campaign to stop ''Death Virtually''
Right to Life Australia's campaign to oppose the use of telehealth to access assisted suicide and euthanasia is still continuing. We thank all of you who have contacted their Attorney-General, the Federal Attorney-General, MPs and Senators. This campaign is now in its 5th month of 2023!
If the law is varied there is no doubt that the numbers of vulnerable patients accessing assisted suicide will skyrocket as is happening in Canada. State and territory attorneys-general have been pushing their federal counterpart, Mark Dreyfus, to amend the law to exempt VAD programs.
Alarmingly, the Federal court may decide on this issue! The Court may make a decision on whether to allow tele-heath consultations for Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) before the Albanese government acts to change current laws.
Melbourne euthanasia practitioner Nick Carr has now sought a legal ruling on whether or not the federal law banning the use of phone or internet to "counsel" suicide applies to VAD programs which have been adopted in all states. A federal court may make a decision on whether to allow teleheath consultations for Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) before the Albanese government acts to change current laws. His application is set to be heard in October 2023. Please continue to contact your representatives to oppose the move to allow access to assisted suicide/ euthanasia by telehealth.
Memories from Pregnancy
“Mom Genes: Inside the New Science of Our Ancient Maternal Instinct”
There is a two-way cell movement between mother and baby via the placenta during pregnancy in placental mammals. The presence and persistence of fetal cells in maternal tissues are known as fetal microchimerism (FMc)
The scientific phenomenon of FMc has been the subject of study since the early 1900s when fetal cells were identified in the lungs of women with eclampsia. In the 1960’s studies pointed to fetal hematopoietic cells in healthy and sick women. In 1981, fetal cells were found in the maternal tissue of mice prompting research on FMc.
Most fetal cells gradually disappear from the blood circulation during the first weeks post-gestation). But a small proportion of fetal cells have been found integrated into maternal tissues up to three decades after delivery in humans). Fetal cells cross the placental barrier and enter the maternal circulation, where they can survive, migrate, and integrate into different maternal tissues- skin, liver, brain, heart, spinal cord, lung, lymph nodes. Scientists studying fetal micro-chimerism have autopsied brain tissue of mothers and discovered evidence of Y chromosomes presumably belong to their sons.
Scientists are still trying to work out what these cells do for us or to us. The fetal cells embedded in our hearts may help new mothers survive heart attacks. FMc may have a beneficial role in maternal health, participating in tissue repair and cell replacement. In contrast, FMc may have a detrimental role in maternal health, found in many post-pregnant women with autoimmune diseases rheumatoid arthritis. For more information click here.
The phenomenon of these cells has recently been written about by Dr Abigail Marie Tucker MD -an Obstetrics and Gynaecological specialist in Willoughby, Ohio. In her new book “Mom Genes: Inside the New Science of Our Ancient Maternal Instinct”, Dr Tucker writes: Moms: You shaped your children, but the reverse is true, too - down to your very cells. Read more.
Maternal-fetal cell transfer between mother and fetus in placental mammals Fetal cells (pink circles) traffic into and set up in the maternal organism (FMc). Maternal cells (purple circles) also traffic into and remain in the fetal body (MMc).
